The Variety and Light Entertainment Council (VLEC) exists to promote good practice in the entertainment industry. The VLEC provides standard contracts for the booking of entertainers and a disputes resolution process. The constituent organisations are made up of the main employer and agent groups and trade unions.
The Council - formerly the Variety and Allied Entertainment Council (VAEC) - has existed for several decades and its main functions are:

* Lobbying and advocacy on behalf of the industry
